Wednesday: Wednesday Addams’ Age.

The Addams Family frequently takes place in a kind of time warp, like many works of popular culture. Even while the rest of the world progresses without them, they never seem to age, and the dynamics of their family essentially stay the same. The characters largely stay the same age as Charles Addams originally portrayed them in his cartoons, with a few exceptions such as the birth of Gomez and Morticia’s third child Pubert in 1993’s Addams Family Values.

With its eponymous character aged 5 to 10 years from earlier iterations and given the opportunity to mature and adapt, Netflix’s Wednesday alters that equation. In doing so, they seize the chance to clearly identify Wednesday’s age, which is not only important but also advances the series’ objectives of building its own perspective on the main heroine and her family.
