Jenna Ortega Reveals On Wednesday Which Horror Film Gave Her Nightmares.

‘Child’s Play’ used to give Jenna Ortega, star of Wednesday, nightmares. On November 23, the actor made his Netflix debut as Wednesday Addams, taking on the role of the title figure in the most recent Addams Family adaption. Wednesday is the most recent gothic entry in scream queen Ortega’s collection, and it depicts a more contemporary portrayal of a teenage version of the Addams daughter as she transitions to boarding school. She previously starred in Insidious: Chapter 2, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Scream, Studio 666, and X, as well as the Netflix suspense series You season 2.

Given her extensive experience in the horror genre, it would be reasonable to conclude that Ortega is a fan of all things eerie, much like her character Wednesday. In contrast, Ortega claims the contrary in a video for ELLE, disclosing her horrified response to the first horror film she saw, Child’s Play. Her fear of a killer doll at a young age caused her to have nightmares for years following; she remembers that they eventually stopped semi-recently, in her teen years.
